An instrument rating is often the next step after earning your private pilots license. It will open you up to a whole new world of flying, as well as increase your skills and safety.
FAA Requirements-
- 50 hours PIC (Pilot-in-Command) Cross-Country time
- 40 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument time
- Of that 15 hours must be with an instructor
Ground instruction as needed to obtain required knowledge, an estimated 10-20 hours of personal instruction at $45 hour.
Other Requirements-
- Pass FAA Written Knowledge Test
- Pass FAA Practical Test
